Happy IT industry and Positive responses about Recession

S Gopalakrishnan, MD and CEO, Infosys, said, “We are seeing that sentiments are becoming better. They're confident that the worst is behind them, now they've started to invest in discretionary projects, etc. Actually we are looking forward to next year's budget which will signal their confidence to invest in IT spends.”
Backed by improving client sentiment, this Diwali, Infosys is handing out 8% salary hikes to all employees and promotions to a select few. The IT bellwether has also increased this year's hiring by 2000 people. Peers like HCL Tech agree that there's cautious optimism in the air.
Commenting on the same, Vineet Nayar, CEO, HCL Tech, said, “I think the hiring outlook today is significantly better than the hiring outlook the same time last year. The demand of the IT companies from their employees has dramatically changed. From the period where IT companies used to significantly invest in employees and make them ready and deploy them in projects today the employees will have to significantly invest in them in getting ready.”
